Later Dr. Panol will probe on specific areas of your medical and social history and complete a comprehensive clinical examination including, palpation of the muscles, auscultation, functional exam, bite alignment, measurements, and cranial nerve exam.

Complete X-rays, MRIs, or CT scans to examine the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and surrounding structures.

A diagnosis and treatment plan will be discussed.

You can start improving your pain and get treatment from you first visit.

Stimulate tissue repair: PRP promotes the regeneration of cartilage, ligaments, tendons, and other soft tissues in the joint.

Reduce inflammation: PRP can reduce inflammation in the joint, which is often a major factor in pain and stiffness.

Improve blood flow: The platelets in PRP help increase circulation, which supports the delivery of nutrients and oxygen to the tissues, speeding up the healing process.

Enhance collagen production: Collagen is essential for the structural integrity of tissues, and PRP helps stimulate the production of collagen fibers, aiding in tissue repair and strengthening.

No, TMD and TMJ are not the same. Temporomandibular Disorders (TMD) refers to a variety of conditions that affect the Temporomandibualr Joint (TMJ) and surrounding muscles.

Use a nightguard or orthotic: If you’re grinding your teeth during sleep, a custom-made orthotic can help protect your teeth and relieve pressure on the TMJ.

Manage stress: Practice relaxation techniques before bed, such as deep breathing or meditation, to reduce stress and anxiety that might trigger jaw clenching.

Sleep on your back: This position helps keep the neck and jaw in a more neutral alignment. Avoid sleeping on your stomach, which can put pressure on your jaw.

Consider your pillow: A pillow that supports proper neck alignment can reduce tension in the neck and jaw area.

Create a relaxing bedtime routine: Wind down with activities that promote relaxation, such as reading or a warm bath, to help reduce nighttime clenching.
